How to grow garlic
The time for planting garlic is generally selected in the three seasons of spring, summer, and autumn each year, the best in February to April. The soil used for planting can choose garden soil or rot leaf soil as the substrate. Garlic seedlings and flower stems need to be topdressed with compound fertilizers. The amount and frequency of watering at different times are also different. Do not let the soil dry.
1. Planting time
The ability of garlic to adapt to the environment is very strong, and it is suitable for planting in the three seasons of spring, summer, and autumn. Because garlic is not cold-resistant, garlic planted in winter cannot germinate, resulting in waste and loss. The climate in spring is warm, and the survival rate of garlic planted from February to April is relatively highest.
2. Planting soil
The requirements of garlic for planting soil are not high. Ordinary garden soil, rot leaf soil and other materials are suitable for planting garlic. The soil needs to be sterilized by high temperature and deep ploughing operation to improve the looseness and permeability of the soil. Appropriate amount of river sand can be added to the soil to improve the drainage of the soil.
3. Fertilizer application
During the seedling period of garlic and the growth period of flower stems, irrigation with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer was applied to promote the vigorous growth of branches and leaves. During the expansion period of garlic heads, it is necessary to use garlic-specific fertilizers to irrigate, to ensure that the garlic heads can expand, and to increase the yield and quality of garlic.
4. Water irrigation
Irrigation with water is an indispensable growth requirement for garlic. Rooting water is irrigated once after sowing to ensure the emergence of seedlings. Watering at the seedling stage is to increase the cold resistance of the seedlings and play the role of strong seedlings. The flower buds and phosphorus buds need to be poured back into the green water during the differentiation period. Water the garlic after harvest to avoid soil drying.
